Frugal and other Happenings 3/25/22!

It's been a week of cleaning, wallpapering, and organizing to see what I have.

I've cleaned and organized the baking pans cabinet, Tupperware drawer, and 1/2 of the canning shelf.  The canning shelf is very important so I know what I have and need to plant more of this year.  I always find a jar or two, no matter what I do, that I missed and I need to use it first.

I only got 1/2 of the porch area wallpapered before I ran out of the wallpaper and had to reorder.  I totally misjudged how much I would need.   Life happens and I get to rest a week or two before my order will come in.  So, don't look at the other side when you come over.

.

I'll be glad when it's time to plant the garden and get outside more.  I did manage to get my waders on and get back to raised beds to plant some mustard greens. The garlic was coming up so I'm happy. This picture was from last year at this time because I forgot the phone and I wasn't going back ha ha.

I'm so glad we bought those raised beds and I would like to have more. The rest of the garden is like a lake basically and unusable till end of May.  We bought those two used for $30 last year.   I'm looking again for a deal but I don't think that will happen again.

What are the ways you saved this past week?

We have raised beds. Bought plyboard and painted it (plant safe) Then we tried treated lumber... that was horrible as they bow when they get warm in the winter. Guy who builds said he wished the companies making it would just quit as he ends up replacing it anyways due to the bowing and popping away from frame work.

Sounds like a very productive week for you, Vickie. I love getting cabinets organized so I can find everything. I found some wide mouth Ball canning jars at the thrift store for 99 cents, but didn’t get them. I like the wide mouth ones as I can fit my hand inside to wash them. I hope your garden is super productive for you this year. :)

I think our problem is we don't know how to keep it organized.
I have found most of jars (not lids) at garage sales over the years. I have not ever bought any new!
