So far we have 7 fruit trees (4 apples, 2 cherry, and one peach). After getting the last two on Friday, husband thinks we need to stop with the trees. "We are growing a orchard," he said. His real problem I believe, is he just wants a straight run with his lawn mower with nothing in his way. I can't blame him for that.
It's going to take two things to get on his good side again, never to plant another tree and one of these trees need to grow up and produce (it will be quite awhile for these last two before I see a cherry harvest)! So I pray for a harvest this year.
The urge to grow is very strong when I see the prices and availability in the stores. We need to grow our own food as much as we can!
Things the grandchildren say:
When I take the kids to school our conversations go all over the place. The sweet granddaughter last week asked why I don't paint my nails. I told her it would wash off with the dirt. She then told me I could at least wear some eye shadow and asked me do I even have some. She is so funny, I knew her next question would be where do you keep it. She looked so sad when she realized the answer was no.
My to do list
It's going to be cold and snowy so I'm going to paint Bathroom ceiling above tub (didn't get done last week)
Get a burn permit, rake the yard, and keep trimming plants around the house .
Burn the big pile of sticks in the neighbors yard Friday: Move the dirt after the burn to our garden. Our neighbor is very nice. We can't burn the pile because the neighbors lawn service dumped a whole lot of leaves in his pile and it would just smoke. We have been removing the leaves to our garden.
Saturday Go watch grandson's game then go
shopping for a gift for husbands Mom for Mother's day. Bought and mailed!
My choices are go up north fishing and rest or go to Shipshewana on the road in Frankenmuth. I'd rather go fishing. I think I have a problem now going around too many people and those Shipshewana shows are usually packed. Although I could find our gift for his Mom there.
We went fishing up north, we had a wonderful time with the grandkids!
Monday Chili cheese dogs
Tuesday Fish and chips
Wednesday Baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and peas
Thursday Pork chops, Cornbread, and pinto beans
Friday Chicken and Dumplings
Take a picnic if we go fishing (chicken salad wraps, fruit, etc.) or out to eat at Culvers if we go to Frankenmuth. Ok we had to have Long John Silvers fish dinners. We didn't catch much but we had a taste for fish! I'm using the chicken salad wraps for today's dinner.
Except for the pork chops I bought the meat items on Flashfood for a very good price. I keep looking everyday for a good deal on the app and sometimes I find something then I stock up. I even bought the wraps for our picnic on there.
Breakfasts: Eggs, fried bologna, and waffles
According to how much energy and time I have this menu could change at any time (sometimes it's much to the delight of my husband). Looks good though doesn't it?
