Frugal Friday 6/24/22!

The Lilly's are blooming!  Just beautiful!

This week started off with a sprained ankle but I'm so surprised on how much we were able to get done and save!

Curbside shopping:

We picked up a bike in the trash (ok he picked up the bike but I was in the car directing him).  Husband will fix the tire without a problem.

We've picked about 4 quarts of strawberries total (a lot were just eaten so fast).   I've saved maybe two quarts.  I think by Friday the sprained foot will be better enough to make a small batch of jam.  I've never made jam with my own strawberries so I'm excited even if I only get 2 small jars.  It's been a great year for strawberries.

I've picked chives, green onions, garlic scapes, thyme, and mint out of the garden.

We were gifted 7 full bottles of shampoo, two bags of sanitary napkins, and brand new razors by a friend who was cleaning out her bathroom pantry. So very nice for her to think of us.

We did go to Meijer's to pick up a flashfood order and I'm so thankful for those motorized wheelchairs. Our Meijer is a big store.  Oh, let me tell you about that order.  Well my order was Kool-Aid Kool bursts for the kids,  a bag of gold fish crackers, can of chicken noodle soup, and a big container of greek yogurt.  It was all damaged or opened when I got there except for the yogurt that was in the cooler.  I told the service desk and they said they were so sorry and to make sure that I ask for a refund from Flashfood (already given).  Then they told me to keep the yogurt and gave me a $10 gift card for my time.   I was so surprised, they were just so nice.  A unexpected blessing for sure!

How did you save money last week?

The lilies are beautiful. Nice find on the bike - that could be a money saver with gas prices!!
Hope your foot is doing better.
How nice to be gifted so many items.

So sorry to hear about the ankle, Vickie! Other than that little set back, it sounds like you've had a great week! Even the mishap with Flashflood turned out alright.

This week I've mostly been doing some cleaning and rearranging. Still working on that. I put up four quarts of tomato sauce (really six, but two jars didn't seal for some reason) made from last years tomatoes. Hoping to make blackberry jam today before it work. It really needs to get done!

Hope the ankle is feeling a lot better today!

Oh you are working and staying busy Jennilee! The jam and tomato sauce will come in handy I know! I love that idea of using your canned tomatoes.
