Frugal Friday 10/7/22

I made ahead some pantry meal kids with shelf stable foods.   I like these because on Friday's we go to sales or estate sales and life gets busy.  So far I've made chicken noodle soup kits and made chicken and dumplings kit before life got busy this past week.  I used canned chicken, canned soup, canned evaporated milk, and bag of noodles etc.  I went as far as I could with my recipes with canned food so I can store them and have them ready for my laziness.    You can watch a video here on how it's done.

I also made Dawn Power Dish Spray for cheap.   If you haven't already seen this recipe it is a money saver!

Recipe to fill up a empty spray bottle is

First add:

2 tblsp of Dawn

1 tblsp of alcohol

Then add:

Water to fill up the bottle

Just put the lid back on and shake well.  ta dah!

Deals we found this week:

Spent $30 for 4 used chairs that match our dining room table.  Now we enough room for Thanksgiving dinner!

Bought a like new mattress from the neighbor we know, for $150.00.  She said she only slept on a couple times and didn't like it.  We were using the old mattress in our quest room that was from our bedroom and it was sinking in the middle. I've been wanting a new mattress so I'm glad we waited for a good deal.  Man, buying a new mattress is expensive!

How did you do saving money this past week?

Great idea on the dish spray. I just mix Dawn, water and vinegar together in a bottle for my dishes. Like getting new ideas.
Great deal on the mattress.

Those meal kits are great. When I need something quick I can never think of what I have to make until after the need when it is too late. I also need a list of foods I can pull from the freezers for quick meals.

Great buys on those chairs and mattress! It is great to upgrade for cheap!

Cheryl, I was just mixing it half and half (half water and half dish washing soap). This works great and it's so much cheaper. So I was so excited!
