My Frugal Ways 4/7/23!

I've been crocheting dish scrubbies.  So far I've made three.  They seem to last a month or so with throwing them in the dish washer.  I will try to make at least a total of 12.

Ways I stop myself from:

Buying an expensive book for homesteading:   I requested it from the library.

Going to get something to eat at night:   Made some tuna fish sandwiches.

Going to get something to eat during the day:  Made a easier meal.  Made hamburgers instead of meatloaf.  Just the thoughts of putting a meatloaf together made me tired!  Somedays.

From a couple of weeks ago:

It was the celebration of PI day at the kids school.  I bought a apple pie from flashfood and I also made strawberry pie in little graham cracker pie tins.  I found the cool whip finally in the freezer to go on top believe me if I had found it before I would have ate it like ice cream ha ha.  I caught a sale for the strawberries for .99 a quart.  I just used a few.

They ate spaghetti in the cafeteria with Pop and me then they had games in the gym and they loved it.

Menu for our  Easter dinner

Ham

Hawaain sweet rolls

Potato dish (daughter is bring it)

Deviled eggs (daughter)

Shuck beans

Dessert:

Orange Dreamsicle Cake  We couldn't find orange cake mix anywhere.   We are now having Dolly Parton's Coconut cake and buttercream frosting.  I let you know!

Angel Cake with Pineapple frosting (daughter)

No Bake Cookies or Sugar Cookies

Have a wonderful Easter!

I make 3 lbs of meatloaf and then spread it out on lined cookies sheets and score it to make meatloaf "patties". Then freeze it. When frozen I "break" them at the scores and put in freezer bags or vacuum freezer bags. Has done wonders when Hubby wanted meatloaf, he defrosted in microwave and then grilled it.

That wanting to get food from out is strong here too! Instead of getting a pizza from out one night we put a frozen pizza bought on sale for 1.49 in the oven. Dishes often get downgraded here as well. As long as everybody eats it is okay!

It will just be the two of us for Easter so I am not doing the traditional big dinner. We are going to grill chicken wings and have potato salad, corn on the cob, sliced tomatoes and cupcakes. I did buy a ham for .99 # for later.

What a deal on a frozen pizza! Today I'll be cleaning more than usual so I put in a stew that I froze before. I'll be looking for a great pizza deal!

Your two of us Easter dinner sounds wonderful! Good deal on the ham.
Happy Easter Lana!

Happy Easter!
Your menu sounds delicious! I made Dolly's coconut cake mix, and my family really liked it. I don't like coconut, so I didn't try it. Aren't I a nice person to make my family things that I don't like. :D

Kathy you are a sweet person for sure. My mom used to make us kids chocolate gravy and chocolate cake even though she was allergic to chocolate. It take a good person to think of others, even though...
