How We Saved Over $200.00 this Past Week!

Groceries are high but we try to combat it by getting the deals here and there.  We shop at multiple stores some weeks if we have the time.  I know this might not work for everyone with a busy schedule though but if it saves money it's worth a few extra minutes.

Flashfood

We had a new store for us (Dashmart) come on the Flashfood app and I was able to get Nathan's hot dogs for $2.55 (5 of them) and 2- 1 lb of butter for $2.99 each.  A savings of $18.00.

The very next day there was a $5.00 off $10.00 code for that store and I bought Dr. Pepper (12 pk) for $4.99 grandson (he loves that stuff), two lunchables for granddaughter at $2.14, and  Heinz tomato no sugar ketchup for $2.00.  All for $6.83.  A savings that day of around $15.00

If you haven't downloaded and use the app for Flashfood before you can use my code VICK36PZH and if you spend over $10 we both get $5.00 in rewards.

Sam's

Not wanting to dig our potatoes just yet we happened across a deal at Sam's for 10 lbs of baking potatoes for $5.00.  We bought 2.

I am curious how the potatoes are growing so we might dig a mess of new potatoes soon.  We're a little worried about rot after all this rain we had.

At least $10.00 saved.

Free Installation

Well one day the microwave just quit.   I think I mentioned it to you before how it just was over and done.  It lasted 10 years so not too bad.  We finally bought a microwave (an over the stove one) and they said it would be $200 to install.  Almost has much money as the microwave itself!  Husband spent a day taking down the old one and installing the new one.  A lot of trouble he said but worth it.

How's it going at your house?  How have you saved this week?

$200.00 to install? That is crazy. Good for hubs!
I have not done Flashfood. I don't have a smart phone - maybe someday. I have heard a lot about it.
Hope your potatoes are OK.
Have a good week.

I wish we had Flash foods! We did save a bunch at the salvage store and got eggs for 1.49 a dozen.

Hi fellow Michiganian. I love Applewood Gardens and tell people they should go visit this place. We're just south of Flint and the rains were ridiculous! Now we get the heat again!

You found some great deals!
The last time I checked, I don't think flash foods is in our area, but hopefully someday soon.
I'm glad your hubby was able to install the microwave; that was a big savings.
Hope you have a great week, and I hope your taters are ok.

Sorry guys I had an appointment that I was so nervous about...it's over and I'm my old self again. LOL

Cheryl, I know isn't the price of everything up...just skyrocketed.
Have a good week too.

Anonymous, Flashfood started in Canada-I guess they have another app too for this sort of thing that's not available in our area yet. We are close to Canada so I guess it comes here first. Not for sure. $1.49 for a dozen eggs -I call that a good deal.

Pam, The humidity is bad again this morning and we turned on the air. I want to go walking in Applewood again. So peaceful and it's free!

Kathy, Hubby watched some youtube videos to help him do it right. Kathy, I hope our taters are ok too. We'll be checking them soon.

I'm glad your dh was able to install the microwave and save the $200. It's wild what some things cost to install, but I know for some people there aren't any options. I love that you got Flashfood by you now. We are still waiting here. :)

Belinda, I know one day we will be too old to install a microwave ..then I guess we will have to pay. l would not have been able to do it by myself right now!
Hope you get Flashfood soon, it helps a lot with the grocery budget.
