My Menu this Past Week 9/26/13

Did you ever have a dinner that just didn't turn out well?   The Swedish meatballs didn't work well for me this week- the gravy just wasn't thick enough.  It was my fault too because in a hurry I misread the recipe. Then still in a hurry I tried my best to fix it. The fix didn't work. Well we ate it anyway and I did hear a few grumbles.  Funny when I told my husband, I don't think the gravy wasn't thick enough, he kind of a mumbled a "yep."  Of course realizing what he had done really quick he said, "it tasted alright to him!"  He tries to but sometimes he fails too!   LOL!

He has learned over the years when dinner comes to the table not to say too much if it doesn't taste right.   As a new bride who didn't know a thing about cooking I shed quite a few tears over failed dinners.   Now I'm a little tougher but I still get upset when the dinner isn't as good as I think it should be!   Little things kind of matter.  On Thursday he decided I was in much need of a break and we had a date night!  He is a good husband for sure!

Now to go clean out the refrigerator and throw away Wednesday's leftovers!

Our menu changes frequently in my home with use of leftovers, garden produce, deals, or special occasions that come up. With that in mind I have decided to tell you what we have had this past week instead of what I have planned ahead.

Sunday          Leftover Meatloaf, fried cabbage, fried potatoes with onions, and mustard greens

Monday         Frozen meal of Hamburger Stew, added leftover fried cabbage from Sunday and leftover green beans

Tuesday        Mcdonald's (had a coupon)

Wednesday   Swedish meatballs

Thursday      Date night

Friday          Pork chops, mustard greens, and potatoes

Saturday      Birthday Party for Grandson (no cake for me)
