This is the heart potato I found in my bag last week. What a neat surprise! Love is all around!
I bought 5 lb. of hamburger last week at Aldi's. Not the best grade but it tasted wonderful. Here is the way I used it:
Made hamburger patties for the freezer. I weighed out a pound and decided with the cheap hamburger that would make three good sized patties. I like to make them and place them on wax paper. Then I put another sheet of wax paper on top and cut them. I'm going to keep the freezer bag in the refrigerator freezer and have them ready to make for the wonderful grandson. He loves hamburgers and this will make it easy for us to make him one fast.
I made two Meatloaves and put one in the freezer.
Made ahead enough chicken in the crock pot for two dinners.
Saved the steak that youngest daughter refused to eat. I cut it up into cubes and froze it for stew next week (it was very big).
I answered the survey on the Kroger receipt for more fuel points.
I also downloaded the $4/2 coupon that was available at Walgreen's and Kroger for Herbal Essence shampoo. I was able to get 4 shampoos for .50 each.
Menu- What was on the dinner table last week:
Monday Chicken Noodle Soup
Tuesday Chicken/bacon sandwiches (Chicken, sauteed onions, and bacon on a toasted bun)
Wednesday Bacon, eggs, and toast
Thursday Steak and potatoes
Friday Out to eat (used $10 in Swagbucks gift cards and went to IHOP)
Saturday Meatloaf, seasoned potatoes, and corn
Sunday Meatloaf sandwiches (as of this morning I haven't decided the side dishes yet)
My goals for next week:
In and around the Home:
Mid week I decided to practice The Art of Doing Nothing so we never got to clean under the refrigerator. It's on the agenda for this week! Actually, I tried to get husband to help with this last night but he was practicing the art of doing nothing (very well).
We took down the baby gate awhile ago and it left a small hole in the wall and baseboard. I hope to get this repaired and painted this week.
Blog:
Write a book review and do another giveaway. I'm reading Raging Storm by Vannetta Chapman. I gave myself a headache by reading so much yesterday! I'm right in the middle of it and I can't wait to find out how it plays out. This book is like watching a action packed movie.
What ways have you saved this past Week?
