I picked zucchini out of my garden this past week. I used it to make zucchini bread and zucchini noodles. I froze most of the bread for later.
I won a fruit basket that came from Harry and David. It contained apples, oranges, pear, and grapefruit. Enough fruit for the rest of the week.
We bought 8 quarts of blackberries for $3.50 a quart when we went for a ride one day. The man grew them in his backyard garden. I canned blackberry juice and made blackberry dumplings. I will use the juice this winter to make blackberry jelly.
One day this past week it was so warm and windy that I was able to dry four loads of laundry outside.
I use the crate you see under the line to put my laundry basket on. It keeps the laundry basket from getting dirty with mowed grass and also brings the basket up higher so I don't have to bend so far.
We had a bonfire and burned the tree limb that came down in a storm a couple of weeks ago. It got rid of most of the mess and the kids had a great time.
The grand children never tire of boxes so we always make sure we save them. It provides free entertainment and they use their imagination. They made an end table for their breakfast in the morning then they decorated them for cars that afternoon.
Menu: What was on the table last week:
Monday hot dogs
Tuesday out to eat
Wednesday Spaghetti...my easy go to meal got a little complicated when I made 3 different kinds of spaghetti (made zoodles, regular spaghetti, and gluten free noodles). I think I satisfied everyone.
Thursday Hamburger Steak, potato salad, and baked beans
Friday We had a bonfire and made pizzas and apple pies in pie irons.
Saturday Hot dogs (we thawed them out for the bonfire but didn't use them). Husband can eat hot dogs twice in a week (I think he could eat them everyday) but I get tired of them. They will be off the menu for awhile!
Sunday Fried Chicken, Mashed potatoes, and green beans
My Goals for This Week:
At Home
Clean up the rest of the mess from the downed limb in the front yard.
Clean up the inside of the truck.
On the blog
Put up another giveaway!
Write a book review.
What ways have you saved this past week?
Be sure to
