This is the last post of How We are Saving for Next Year's Christmas and I'm excited to see how much I can save for Christmas! I've already started putting these things into action and seeing results. Every morning I wake up and go to Swagbucks to earn a few points. In a month so far I've earned 700 points!
After that I switch over to my sewing machine and I've started sewing gifts from the fabric that was given to me from a friend. I don't spend too long on this -I average just about 15 minutes a day. I started doing Patsy's 100 day sewing challenge but really I haven't been keeping track of the days. I want to sew as much as I can before gardening season starts and I'm staying outdoors more.
Today, I thought I would mention all the other little things I hope to do to save for Christmas.
All these little things really count!
I'm going to save all my change for Christmas. This can really add up -last year I was able to pay half of our vacation house rental with this money.
Buy gifts with every $10 off $10 coupon I receive from JC Penny. I just received one in the mail so I'm going to look at the clearance racks soon! I can imagine buying a shirt or two for the grandson, socks for the husband, etc.
Save the money I get back from bottle returns at the grocery store. This one is could really add up if I do it!
My Speedy Rewards points are the points I receive when I buy gas or merchandise at Speedway gas station. Not a credit card but a point reward system. I was able to buy a gift card or two from them last year. Not a lot of money but it comes in handy for a small gift!
Walgreen's is another place I shop and love to get balance rewards that can be used towards anything in the store. You can accumulate points for things you normally shop for or you can get them for making healthy choices. You can see the guidelines and exceptions here. I'm not sure how long these are good for so I'll buy gifts here and there.
How are you saving for Christmas?
