My Frugal Ways this Past Week 12/2/18!

Our little grand daughter spent the night and we had such fun.  So much fun I couldn't move out of bed this morning! She got me up when she woke up and now I'm on a roll!

Here are the ways I've saved this past week:

The grandkids had a snow day this past week but the storm kind of fizzled out.  After the wind stopped we dressed warm, went outside. and made a snowman we called Olaf.  I got the snowman kit at a garage sale for $1.00 this summer.

We also got together in the kitchen and made Christmas cookies.  They had a great day.  I slept well.

I managed to rake the leaves the day before the snow fell and put them in the garden.  Thank goodness we are having a nice warm day today and things are thawing out.

In a effort to keep the electricity bill lower we have made sure to keep the lights off, only charge one house phone at a time, and we have turned off the cable box at night.  I've heard that the cable box is a big power zapper.  I'll let you know if any of this helps soon when we get our bill.

I ordered a book with my points for one of the grandchildren from My Reader Rewards.

Sold the Old stove for $40 so that means we only paid $105 for our new to us stove.

Came within grocery budget for this week and only a couple dollars over for the month.  After discussing how we can make our grocery bill lower we have decided to go grocery shopping every other week except for fruit/vegetables, milk, or one fantastic deal.  I hope this will help lower our grocery shopping totals.  Thanks for giving us the idea Lorna!

I worked up a dishcloth with the thread I had left in my stash.  It's just for our house so it doesn't matter that it's not done perfect. I have also done this with the dish scrubbies I make, so I have some that have two colors.

This is the first time I've done the waffle pattern for a dishcloth and I love it.   Seems like it's has more scrubbing capabilities.  A friend on one of the Facebook  groups I belong to showed me the pattern. I can't thank you enough!   This one I think is my favorite!

My goals

I did manage to make one fleece blanket but I need to make three more.

This morning I need to clean my house and then make some dinner! I can do this!

What are the way's you've saved this past week?
