Frugal Saturday 7/29/23!

We started out the week going to the Amish and Mennonite stores.  My very best deal was this vegetable oil for $6 (the $3.00 price tag was wrong but still it was a great deal). Part of it is missing because I poured some into the the smaller bottle that was empty so I can handle it better.   I always pour too much out of a big bottle.  I'm the same with a big bottle of laundry detergent.

We don't use a lot of vegetable oil so this will last awhile.

We also bought a box of water bottles for $4.00.   I think they had fallen out of the case. These will help us this fall when the grand kids go back to school.

We bought a takeout baked chicken dinner from the in store Mennonite deli and had a picnic at a roadside rest area on the way home.  For $15.00 we each had a great meal..we had the water in the back of the car.  We try to look for dinner deals and this was fantastic.

I got a lot of deals at Walgreens drug store this week.  Everyday they had great rewards and I was there everyday!  Today is an extra 10% rewards plus you can use the 25% rewards offer this week at the same time.  I'm restocked on toilet paper,  shampoo, mouthwash, etc. and lots of rewards points to use in the future.   Have any of you been doing this?

Thursday we went fishing and caught four fish between us.  Friday we had a fish dinner.  A lot of fun fishing and a great dinner.

What ways have you saved this past week?

Wow, what a great week you had! Free fish for dinner, amazing. I love going to our Mennonite store here in Tennessee. You found some great deals! A roadside picnic sounds like a lovely way to spend the evening.

You know it was kind of peaceful and fun at the same time. We will have to do it again. Have a great weekend Belinda.

I went to a farmers market and got about 60 pounds of tomatoes and 20 lbs of okra for $70. That is a bargain in my area.

That's sounds like a great deal here too! You have some work to do I bet. Have a great weekend!

Hi Vickie, I love hearing about good deals. They seem so few and far between now with this inflation.
Water is always a good thing to have stored up.
I didn’t know about the Walgreens deals but I’m glad you did good!

Hi Rhonda, sometimes we have to look high and low to find a good deal it seems like doesn't it? Maybe they will have the good Walgreens deals again. It was a very good sale.

Good Morning Vickie-Wow! You got some great deals! We've been stocking up when we see deals up here in Northern Wisconsin. Keep seeing deals on meat! (Kroger). We have freezer in garage and vacuum seal. Yesterday got two 2 1/2+ pds ground beef (80/20) for $3.14 ea. Use by date was next day. I took 2 pkgs and told a man next to me this was a good deal and he took the other 2. We love Amish stores but ours are over an hour away. Our big garden is doing well, we are droughty so have to haul hoses to water. No tomatoes yet, I will blanch and freeze broccoli today (been making broccoli salad, my favorite). Got 3 large heads of cauliflower yesterday at farmers market for .75 ea. Hubby will make a tray of cauliflower lasagna (his concoction). Enjoy your weekend!

Nancy, Deals on meat are always great. I hope your garden does well. We are now getting regular rain so I hope you do too. There is nothing like fresh veggies! Cauliflower lasagna sounds interesting!
