Country Fried Apples

These Country Fried Apples taste so good! Vickie's Kitchen and Garden

It's all about Apples in the Fall months for us.  We love everything made with apples.  Including apple pies, apple turnovers, and my recipe today Fried Apples.   They are so good!   My husband's favorite meal consists of bacon, eggs, toast, and  Country Fried Apples.   Sounds like a Cracker Barrel menu doesn't it?

The recipe starts out with a lot of apples but they quickly cook down.  Somehow Country Fried Apples taste better cooked in an iron skillet.   Maybe it's just me.

8 Medium Sized Apples (cored and sliced) (I used Golden Delicious)

1/4 cup of Sugar (you can use more or less depending on the sweetness of the apples)

Over medium heat, in an iron skillet, melt butter.   Add apples and then sprinkle sugar over top.   Cook until apples are soft and have cooked down.   Approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
