Growing up as a young girl I never was taught how to cook, no offence to my Mom. She had a rather small kitchen and she said there was just no room to give me the one on one instruction I needed. Maybe she was tired after teaching my 3 sisters, but truthfully I think she was afraid. Yes I believe that she was afraid. You see I could break, spill, and then burn a dish in a heart beat. So she gave up on me, plain and simple. I completely understand that now.
Then at a young age I got married to my wonderful husband and he thought I could cook if he could just tell me how it's done. Well being that he really didn't know how it's done, sometimes that worked and sometimes it didn't.
He especially wanted me to know how to make biscuits like his mom. So when we traveled to Kentucky he'd call me in the kitchen in the morning and say, watch how she does it. So I would look at him mean and then stand over her shoulder as she mixed the dough without a recipe (just a little of this and a little of that). Then she would just take enough dough for a biscuit in her hands and roll it into a wonderful shaped delicious biscuit that would melt in your mouth. Oh so good.
Fast forward 35 years later and I now feel I can could just about anything, even biscuits. These Delicious and Easy Two Ingredient Biscuits are not the recipe my mother-in-law would make but one that has worked like a charm every time for me.
Delicious and Easy Two Ingredient Biscuits
Print Recipe here
2 cups of self-rising flour (White Lily is the best)
1 cup of Whipping Cream
1 cup of Whipping Cream
Mix together ingredients, then roll out on lightly floured surface, and cut biscuits. Bake at 450 for about 10 minutes until lightly brown.
Note: This recipe is made best by not using any substitutions for the ingredients. I've tried them all and it's best just to buy the self-rising flour (if you can find it, White Lily is the best) and real whipping cream. They will come out perfect every time.
