Book Review: Worry Less So You Can Live More by Jane Rubietta

Worry Less So You Can Live More: Surprising, Simple Ways to Feel More Peace, Joy, and Energy

Amazon's Book Description:

Weary of worry and its tagalongs: anxiety, discouragement, and exhaustion? Jane Rubietta invites you to leave behind your heavy heart and learn to truly live again. To experience joy and rest in the moment-by-moment pleasure of a God who delights in you--and has all your tomorrows under his control. Jane's picturesque prose offers enduring encouragement and practical tools for change. Discussion questions and journaling prompts make this the perfect book to read on your own or share with your small group and discover how to worry less and live more.

My thoughts:

Jane Rubietta's writing made me realize how much worry can take over a day.  How we can miss out on the joy of living, by worrying about what is going to happen in our adult lives.  How not trusting God to meet all our needs (Phil. 4:19) can lead us into stressful unfulfilled lives.

She gives you all this with real life stories of her life that most everyone can relate too.   They will make you think how this applies to you.   Mixed in with the stories are poetry and discussion questions that will take you deeper still.

This is a book that I will read time and again to remind myself of God's great love and how he would like us to live.

Side note:

I read the first couple of chapters in this book right before our little day trip to Canada last Saturday.  I was unprepared though to put her suggestions already to work quite that fast.    You see our phone quit working the minute we crossed the border and did not work again till we got back in the United States.  I blame that on a cheap cellphone plan (one we love)!

There was no calling to check on the grandkids (Mom does a fantastic job) and my youngest daughter (now older).   The worry though was there.   I even thought about looking for a pay phone!   Then I let it go and we (my husband and I) started reconnecting with each other and talked about the view, the flea market, and the food.   After I prayed about it I knew God was there protecting them as we were off having a joy filled day..   We may do it again soon!

I was given a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
