Garden Update for 8/6/15- Mustard greens, Green Beans, and Canning!

On Monday morning I woke up at 6 a.m. searching for a cover and then realized how dark it was outside.  I woke up my husband out of a deep sleep and told him Fall was coming and we needed to plant mustard greens fast.   He said, "Yep, I believe your right"  and fell back to sleep.   He is so good.

By Tuesday he was plowing up the "empty spot" and he then out of the blue decided just to plow up my lettuce.   He said it was over and just needed to be plowed up.  What can I say, the man loves to plow.  I knew I shouldn't have left him alone but the zucchini bread was in the oven.  Let me tell you I'm so good... but not as good as he is.

The mustard greens are now planted.

We picked a bushel of white half runner green beans out of two rows yesterday (Wednesday).   I picked a few rattlesnake green beans that were ready too (smaller basket).

In between fixing the car husband helped break up a few beans. We love the thoughts that there are a couple of more bushels out there!

This morning I'm canning....14 quarts so far!

How's your garden coming along?
