My Frugal Ways this Past Week

A bushel and a 1/4 a bushel of green beans

We picked a bushel of green beans a night for three nights this week. I canned 26 quarts so far and I woke up this morning to the humming of a full dehydrator.   We have more beans to pick next week. We will love these to go with our dinners this winter.  Three cans didn't seal and I used them immediately for our dinner.

Breaking up green beans

Breaking up green beans can be a long process so it's nice to have help.  Thank goodness for my husband!

The weather has been getting cooler so we knew it was time to plant our Fall crop of mustard greens too this week.

Freezing zucchini

I continued to freeze zucchini and make zucchini bread.

We had side dishes from our garden of tomatoes, cabbage, and cucumbers at many of our meals.

I hung out clothes on the clothes line many times this week.

We went to a couple of garage/estate sales this week.   We found a keurig coffee maker for $40 (sells for $279 (black) on Amazon), I was able to find a skirt ($1.50 wearing it to church this morning), a nightgown ($1.50), and a doll for granddaughter, (.50).

A repaired a small tear in one of the living room pillows.

What ways have you saved money this week?
