Recipe: Orange and Honey Oatmeal

In the effort to eat healthier I've started with breakfast this past week. Oats for breakfast are healthy, fast, easy, and frugal so they fit all my criteria!  They just have one problem..they can be boring. You need to kind of jazz them up and make them special. Somehow that makes them go down so much better!

Why orange and honey?  After getting my second cold of the winter my husband is convinced I need more citrus. That bowl of oranges have been staring at me every since. So this this past week I deceided to put the oats and oranges together.  I loved it and I hope you do too!

Recipe for Orange and Honey Oatmeal

1 Orange divided

1 1/2 tsp. of honey

1/2 cup of Old fashioned Oats

1 cup of water

1/4 tsp of cinnamon (optional)

Using a large bowl mix oatmeal and water.  Add the juice of half of the orange and the honey. Stir well.  Microwave for 3 minutes. After cooking, add oranges slices chopped, cinnamon, and milk or yogurt if desired.
