Here are some of the frugal ways I've saved this past week:
Made strawberry jam.
Went to CVS and got the deals. We won't be back that way for another month so I did two transactions to use up my extra care bucks. I did make a few mistakes with my coupons but in the end I came out great. One day I will be a expert at CVS shopping.. if the cashiers will put up with me that long!
Hung out clothes to dry.
We made sure to bring drinks when we took the grand kids to the park.
Made a freezer meal and I'm planning a freezer meal session with my daughter.
Took a garden and house tour at Applewood Estate with friends (free).
What was on the Dinner Table last week:
Monday Leftover steak/hot dogs from grilling out on Father's day
Tuesday Out to eat with husband
Wednesday Pizza casserole
Thursday Lunch out with friends (one friend brought it)- husband had a sandwich
Friday Leftover pizza casserole and soup beans
Saturday Bean, cheese, rice, and beef burritos (I made enough for a freezer meal)
Sunday Smoked sausage and sauerkraut with mustard greens.
My Goals for this week:
In the garden:
Weed the vegetable garden.
Plant six week beans where some vegetables never came up. Unfortunately it has never come a good rain yet. Every once in awhile we get a sprinkle. Hopefully the rain expected today will be a garden soaker.
Put more rocks down in the back of the house (already weeded).
In the home:
Clean the carpets.
Makeover one pair of pants into Capri's.
Date with Husband:
Go fishing!
Blog:
Write a book review.
Keep working on that important blog post for the end of the month (more on this later).
Just to let you know what has happened to my goal of Instagram- I have given up - I'm not good with my phone- I forget to charge it and I forget to use it! I know you can tell I'm older and have a landline! Maybe later.
