Garden Update for 6/8/16: Slow Growing, Cold, Here and there, Strawberries, and First Blooms!

The Spring Garden:

Slow Growing Lettuce in my Mom's old washtub-Vickie's Kitchen and Garden

Not to complain but the lettuce I planted in my Mother's old washtub is the slowest growing lettuce I have ever seen!  It's just now starting to grow it seems. The onions are doing great though.  I'll take it when it's ready I guess!

This slow growing problem could possibly be from the wild heat that we got there for awhile.  Of course now we are freezing (in the 40's last night).....

I tried to capture this in a picture for you but the green beans only came up here and there. The wonderful grandson is coming to help today so we plan planting more beans seeds.

Ready to pick strawberries-Vickie's Kitchen and Garden

While he is working I'm going to let him discover these!  It took all I could do not to pick them last night and eat them!   He will love it!

My first tomato blooms.  Yeah!

Cukes are starting to climb!
