In the Garden: An Easy Way to Rake Leaves

Such a easy way to rake leaves and it helps your garden too! Vickie's Kitchen and garden

Did I ever tell you that I met my husband raking leaves?   Long before internet dating there was chance meetings (and blind dates). You see I was raking the leaves in our yard that fell from his brother's tree.  He was visiting and playing basketball while I was raking.  He said something about that was a lot of leaves.  I told him I needed him to help me and it was the least he could do.  I mean he was related to the man who lives there.  I was kind of bold wasn't I?   Now what was this blog post about?  Oh yeah, an easy way to rake the leaves!

No matter how you gather the leaves by rake or by a loud leaf blower you need to gather them and dispose of them. This has been one of the easiest ways I found that helps me get it done fast . It has the added benefit of helping your garden too.

I rake the leaves like I'm sweeping the floor and rake them onto a tarp.

I take the tarp to the garden and dump them.  I try my best to spread them evenly. They break down faster if they are shredded but I usually just put them on without shredding.  As the leaves decompose they help the soil. Makes for a great garden in the Spring!

As a added bonus you will have no back aches from stuffing them in a bag  and then dragging the bags out to the curb for trash day!

How do you dispose of your leaves?
