Kitchen Tip: How to Make Powdered Sugar

There is always something I forget.   Really, I try to have a well stocked pantry so I won't have a problem. I even go to the grocery store with a list.  Then I go to cook and I realize I'm not as organized about this dinner making thing  as I hoped to be.  If I can fix the problem without making another trip and make it myself I'm good (if not I make the husband go after it)!

What is it this year?  Well, we are celebrating the grand baby's birthday on Thanksgiving and I thought I had plenty of powdered sugar to make her cake.  I buy huge bags at Sam's so I'll always have some ready. I was close, really close.  The thickness though just wasn't there.   I just need about 1/2 cup more.   That's all.

It's really easy to make a little more of powdered sugar.  I mixed 1/4 cup of sugar in my blender till it resembles powder sugar and that's it.  I did this twice to make room for the sugar to expand a little.  I told you it was easy!

I wouldn't want to make all the powdered sugar I needed but this made just enough to make my frosting thick enough to spread.   Now, he can get the marshmallows later!  ðŸ˜Š

Sorry about the picture quality.   I found it really hard to take a picture of powdered sugar!
