Last week I went with girlfriends up north to our favorite store. My husband heard about it and requested that I pick him up pickled pork hocks.  He remembers eating them when he was young he said and they were great.  Let me just say they are not like he remembers and I hope I can forget the taste soon!

My bricks had majorly sunk around my flower garden.  Wonderful grandson came and in no time flat he had pulled out a whole bunch of bricks. Let me tell you he put me to shame.   I paid him with an ice cream cake for his Mom for Mother's Day.  He was one happy boy!

Last month as I was cleaning out my pantry I started noticing cans of food and wondered why on earth we bought that.  How does it happen that things we don't even like were in there (I think we forgot to take our glasses to the store). We also had too many cans of the same thing and they would never get eaten before the expiration date.  It was then that I decided to save them  for the annual Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food drive which is held this Saturday May 13.   It's a great easy way to donate and get your pantry cleaned out as well!
