Plain Perfect (Daughters of the Promise Book 1) by [Wiseman, Beth]

Plain Perfect (Daughters of the Promise Book 1)

From Amazon:

Lillian Miller hopes the Plain life will offer her the peace of mind her heart desperately seeks.
Lillian's first twenty-seven years have been challenging at best. Her decision to get reacquainted with her Amish grandparents in Lancaster County, PA, is an attempt at finding peace in a complicated world. But her plan has a flaw . . . Lillian is practicing the Amish lifestyle with no real understanding or relationship with God. And despite her best efforts, complications arise when she takes a fancy to Amish widower Samuel Stoltzfus who has an eleven-year-old son, David.

My thoughts:

Plain Perfect was full of God's love, forgiveness, and understanding. I felt such peace in the story with the wonderful descriptions of the countryside and people.

I loved Irma Rose in this story.  What a strong Grandma to keep on going when times were rough and life didn't go as planned. She's a great teacher, hard worker, and a loving wife.  I felt like I was right there listening to her and now I too have a greater understanding of the Amish ways.

Not to forget Lillian because she just bounced off the pages with her exuberance.  Sometimes, when she got things a little mixed up, I was a little embarrassed for her. She was a great character!

This book reminds me to always try to stay in touch with your family before it's too late.

A wonderful wonderful read!
