Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there! I hope your day is a great one!
Here are the ways I've saved and improved our household this past week:
I stained the outdoor glider I received for Mother's day. We found it at a garage sale for $60 and I could see how pretty it would be. Staining it made it look new again. We have seen new ones that look like this one for $600.00. Here is the before picture:
I covered the backyard swing cushions with fabric I found for $2.50 at a garage sale. I made three pillows and used the stuffing from the old pillows to fill them with. I used a twin sheet for the top of the swing for the shade (the topper came off a long time ago). Not sure I'm in love with the pattern but it will grow on us, I hope. We use this swing mostly for bonfires and to watch the garden grow.
In the garden:
I harvested the lettuce and green onions for salads and sandwiches. The lettuce has been great for our diet. I hope to plant more soon so we can have another crop.
I put netting on our blackberry bushes so that the birds will leave them alone and we can have some!
I weeded in between the plants everyday that it didn't rain.
I made some low carb cheesy bread from a free Kindle book I posted yesterday. It was delicious so it's a keeper. Today I'm going to try the rolls for his Father's day dinner. It's going to be 95 degrees here today so I'll cook them this morning.
My goals for next week (nothing new just some repeats on things I didn't start or quite get done from last week):
I cleared out the pantry but didn't wipe the shelves down. I hope to get to that this week along with cleaning out the freezer.
Finish cleaning the computer/sewing room. Just a little more to do.
