Author Bio:
Doris
Rikkers is a freelance writer and editor who has written many bestselling
children’s books and Bibles. Although she loves the ocean, she lives in Grand
Rapids, Michigan, surrounded by her books, her flower gardens, and her family
and friends.
Illustrator Bio:
Spanish
artist Fernando Juarez illustrates children’s books and works as an art
supervisor at the Madrid studio Ilion Animation. The company produces 3D
feature films for children. Fernando has three kids himself, and if he has any
time left after work and family, you might catch him playing guitar in a rock
band.
My thoughts:
I really love the illustrations and the simplicity of the stories in The Spirit of God Illustrated Bible. The most important parts are brought out for each story and told in a way that it's easy for younger ones to understand. As you read they will be kept busy looking at the detailed pictures on each page. You can see more of the artwork and receive a sample at Zonderkidz's website here
I will love reading this to my grandchildren! This book seems suited for ages 4 to all the way past 100. Really I loved reading it by myself. This would make a beautiful gift for Christmas or a birthday!
