My Menu for This week 1/27/20!

I made a whole  chicken  in  the crockpot yesterday,  so we will  be  having  chicken dinners  for  a couple of  days.    I downloaded  one of  the free books today, Easy Rotisserie Chicken Meals: 50 recipes for shredded chicken (Family Cooking Series Book 2) and  I  can't  wait  to   try a new recipe.  Keep in mind that the prices change frequently so make sure you check, it may not be free!

I'm going to try, next time I make a chicken, to make my chicken look  like hers.  Mine comes out very white and I have to bake it a little to make it brown.  So, I'm excited to give it a try!

It's just good to try new recipes to keep from getting bored.

Here is what I plan to put on the table this week:

Monday              Chicken and Dumplings

Tuesday              Recipe from the book I  downloaded  today (I'm going to look later tonight)

Wednesday          Leftovers

Thursday.             Spaghetti with garlic bread that I made from steak buns

Friday.                   Pizza

Saturday               Lasagna with more garlic bread (I didn't make this last week)

Sunday.                Leftovers

Thank you for the informative post about shredded chicken recipes. I had notthought about looking for different recipes outside the few I already know.

I love to see other ways of making chicken and dumplings. Our version is to make them much like drop biscuits - drop by spoonfulls in the chicken broth. My grandmothers were both Czech and their recipes were very similar And, our broth is less gravy like and more like a slightly thicker chicken noodle soup broth. We eat ours in bowls. We make them two ways - fluffy or more dense. I like your version that is more gravy like. Now I'll be craving chicken and dumplings! Thanks for sharing!

I've dropped them in and rolled them both but today husband said I need to make them smaller. Now to remember that the next time ha ha.
It would have been so nice to have been in the kitchen with both of your grandmas! Have a great day Carolyn.

They are so good! We probably shouldn't have them to often.
