Emergency Teacher Meeting
There will be an emergency teacher meeting between Grandma and Mom this morning. I realized I had no idea what I'm doing and she needs to help me fast! I feel like a terrible teacher.
All the work is done on his chromebook. He finished his math yesterday, I made him practice cursive, and he did some coding (yeah, I don't think that's required). Then I gave up and we made donuts from a can of biscuits and they loved them. There was a bit of math in there so that was good right and I'm also teaching them home economics!
No problem though really, she just did more work with him last night.
Oh, I almost forgot we definitely had outdoor recess!
School lunches
Yesterday I was looking out the window and a bus stopped in front of our house. I said to myself, wait, all schools are closed in Michigan! Then kids all came out of their houses, went to the bus, and got their school lunches. My grand kids go to a different district and they are having your come to the school, then they will come out to your car to give you the meal. Which is fantastic but quite a drive for us everyday. I emailed the district that we live in last night and she said most definitely they would deliver school lunches to our grand kids today! We will just need to watch for the bus. Such a blessing. That's what I'm going to start noticing ...the blessings!
If you want to, leave a comment and let me know how everything is going in your neck of the woods.

New subbie. :) I love your picks for Amazon books. Brightens my day. That is wonderful your school district is doing this for your grandkids and all the other kids. I was a homeschool Mom. I know doing the curriculum can be a challenge, especially when you get thrown it to it suddenly. All the other stuff you are teaching them is excellent. You are doing a great job. Those skills will take them far. Took my DS to medical school.
The bus came to bring the neighbors kids lunches yesterday. I thought it would be fun to be able to run out and get lunches!
Lana the thought it was so cool and the loved the food!
Yes we are making it today a little better...little. Hope it will be more routine soon. So neat that your son went to medical school. You were a great teacher!
Those donuts look good! You are teaching them life skills which will help them, and it sounds like you made learning fun.
Our schools are using the buses to deliver meals too. I think that is such a neat idea.
I think we have 67 cases with 2 deaths in VA. So many things have closed, and the governor closed the dmv offices today too. Not sure what will happen since my dh needs a new photo for his drivers license next month.
I haven't had time to wAtch the news yet today but I know our cases have really went up too. This is so serious.
I have relatives in Texas and they said there that they are extending time for driver license renewal. I hope your state does too.
Thank you for the books! So glad I've been following and grabbing them as our library is closing possibly tomorrow so I'll need some reading material :) Please don't be too hard on yourself with the homeschool details, as they are still learning even if they're doing things like cooking, and this is a real-life way to show kids how we can all adapt to new stuff so quickly! Our homeschooling life has stayed the same, mostly because we're already isolated rurally! lol Praise God that my husband's clients haven't started calling off the projects they had lined up. Looking forward to some sunny spring weather to spend outside in the garden because that makes everything feel and look better!
homeschooling is a learning experience for me too! We are finding our way I think..anyway today seemed better.
I'm glad your husband is still working ...we need money that's for sure!
I think we'll need those gardens this year more than ever! The sunshine helps the mood a great deal.
