What I did those Little Boxes of Fruit!!

Image may contain: food

Some little boxes of fruit are delivered here each week in the kids lunches.  So far we have received boxes of strawberries, mixed fruit, and peaches.  Yeah, they won't eat them.  So they were stacking up in the fridge and I decided over the weekend to make jam.  It took about 2 or 3 of the cups to make a pint sized jar.  I had a taste after I cooked each one and they made some delicious jam.  The kids will now love it in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Lost!

Besides making jam this weekend, I mopped the floor, picked up toys, vacuumed the floor, made some terrible, awful donuts, and then we got lost on a car ride.   It was a beautiful car ride but when I asked my husband just exactly where we were he hemmed and hawed then said, "I'm not sure."   This man usually knows where he is and he never says that!

We saw farms that we didn't know existed and houses that we would love to have (yes, we coveted our neighbors houses).    I finally told him we could use the GPS on the phone but he said he had it figured out.   I love getting lost in Michigan (with the husband) and I hope to do it again.

Yes, It truly is a blessing! They deliver food that the kids love to eat most of the time. That helps them with their home schooling to have a good snack!

Yay for all that wonderful jam! I love getting lost, too. One time we found a historic cotton gin and I would love to see that again but we have no idea where it was!

Sounds like a fun weekend. Glad you had a fun drive...all who wander are not lost.
I remember one time that we took the back roads and got lost. Only problem, we were almost out of gas, and I was so glad to get out of the boonies and find a gas station.
Yummy looking jam. Hope you have a good week.

Another fun thing we do is do a drive by on million dollar houses if they are not in gated communities. Or any other interesting house we find on realtor.com.

Running out of gas would be scary when your lost in the country for sure! Sounds like a great memory though!
I love that saying Kathy..I'll remember it for the next time!

There you go a perfect fun time. Sometimes I just can't believe how much they want for these houses!

I went out yesterday for a car ride, I too love to get lost with hubby. The only problem is every time I get in the car he says a switch turns on in my brain because I talk alot, normally I'm quiet. Thank you for the books. I am just starting to adapt better to this virus.

we used to do that all the time. With Hubby hauling, he isn't much in for car rides. Get warmer weather and we will get the motorcycle out

I'm glad your doing better. It was a shock to us because we had never had this kind of thing happen before. I think there will be times when minds gets fuddled again but we will get through it.
Rides must relax you..I know they do me.

Vickie @Vickie's Kitchen and Garden said...

I wouldn't want a ride either I guess if I traveled all the time.
We used to ride a motorcycle but it became too dangerous around here so we quit. The freedom is so nice.

Thanks Melissa it was good and it will come in handy in the months to come.

I've been wanting to go for a drive but we just haven't had the time or energy. Sometimes you find the best things when you're lost!

What a great way to use up the fruit too.

Vickie @Vickie's Kitchen and Garden said...

I know what you mean about the energy. It takes a lot of it!

Have a great day Jenny!
