It's Freezing!

Image may contain: people standing, sky, outdoor and nature

I inspected one of my apple trees a couple of days ago and was so excited to see that it had so many blooms.  That night we had freeze warnings and I knew I had to do something.  So for the last two nights I've wrapped two sheets around it.  I tied the ends of the sheet to a branch and then tied the ends together.

This morning is  29 degrees so we will see if my method worked.  I would love some apples from my own tree this year.

Now, we have low temperatures forecast for Tuesday night too.  I hope they are wrong.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you it snowed yesterday.

How's the weather in your area?

Please leave a comment and let me know how it's going in your neck of the woods.

freezing this morning. Our apple trees are too big to be covered. Supposed to start turning warm on Tuesday with rain coming in. We were supposed to get rain or snow and got nothing but winds and cold.

Me thinks you have a ghost! I hope your apples are safe! It will be in the 30's here tonight so we will be out there with the sheets this afternoon, too!

It worked great except for one little branch that escaped. Overall though it's good. I bet I did scare the neighbor though especially with the wind blowing. Haha
Hope it works great for you too!

That wind can cut you in two! Soo cold! I hope your trees will be alright.

I covered my tomatoes last night & brought in all of my container plants that I thought might not handle 31'...the predicted low. I don't think it stayed cold enough long enough to freeze here thankfully & last night is the only cold night I had to worry about.

We've had snow here in Arkansas in May...crazy.

I plan to try to cut my husband's hair today. I do not want to do it but he's looking so bad. He says if I butcher it he'll just wear a hairnet...he works in the food industry in an office but he has to wear a hairnet when he goes into the production area. So he says he'll just keep it on all the time...some people do. Ha!

Oh I hope your apple tree does ok. Snow? Wow!
We have the freezing temps too.
Crazy weather.
Happy Mother's day!

Our weather has been cool, but tolerable. High 60's. Supposed to warm up this week and be in the 80's this weekend.

Hope your tree survived, Vickie! Apples from your own tree would be fantastic!

It is cold and windy here. The radar shows we are getting snow but none has reached the ground. Overnight temps are flirting with freezing. I hope it doesn't freeze seriously as I have all my summertime water hoses strung out all over and I'm not putting them away again!

Your tree looks safe and loved, swaddled like a baby.

Chilly here this morning. The sun arrived and temps warmed up to somewhere in the upper 60's lower 70's. Happy Mother's Day weekend! :-)

Happy mother's day to you too!

It looked good except for a few blossoms escaped the sheets and died. I need to do that tomorrow again I guess.

We are hoping for a warm spell too Jennilee by the end of the week...60s!! That's so funny! Have a great sunday!

Let me know how cutting your husband's hair goes Jenny. We are waiting for the warm spell at the end of week so we can get in the backyard and I can get cutting husband says. I guess he could put on his hat too.

Happy mother's day to you Kathy!

It's a job with the changing weather that's for sure. I mean out the sheets up then take them down and back up tomorrow night. I'm over it too! Have a great Sunday!

My husband's hair looks acceptable....it's certainly not as nice as a barber shop haircut. I was pretty pleased because I really expected a disaster. He has one pretty bad bald spot on the top of his head...near the front off center. It gave me quite a bit of trouble but he said the barber never knows what to do with it either.

He told a few people at work that I cut his hair & no one laughed...& they would seriously laugh at him because he's such a tease all the time. I did use some tiny battery operated clippers to block the back, his sideburns & around his ears. I think that's what saved me. They aren't big enough to totally shave his head with.

Yeah Jenny you did it. I'm so glad you both like it. I bet it was nerve wracking though.
Here comes the end of the week for us!
