Some Odds and Ends

Last night we had this wonderful storm that kept me awake  a few hours.  I have heard of people that sleep like babies during thunderstorms but that is not for me.  You see, when God is making so much noise I'm up listening.   In the end, a little lack of sleep was so well worth to feel the nice cool breezes this morning.  Such a relief from the heat and humidity we experienced yesterday.

The grandkids planted their pumpkins yesterday morning and that makes the garden completely in!    The both took half a row and they are going to see how many pumpkins each of them can grow.   I hope they forget about that because the vines grow everywhere and I bet that will be hard to count.

We have just two more days of home school.  Man it's been a hard week and grandson would just like it to be over.   It's been hard to keep him interested.  The nice weather probably doesn't help with his concentration.

Today is the last day for the school bus to go by and deliver the grandkids lunches.  I so wish I had something special for bus drivers and helpers but I just can't think of anything that doesn't involve going to the store.  I guess my sincere thanks will have to do.  I hope they know that essential workers are the best.

Please a comment and let me know how it's going in your neck of the woods.

Yesterday the bus driver that brings the lunches to our neighborhood tried to give my husband a lunch which he thought was hilarious. Can you whip up a batch of no bake cookies before the bus comes? I really love it when it storms at the lake. That house has a cathedral ceiling in the bedroom and the rains is so nice on the roof.

I bet that rain on the roof sound is so relaxing. your place there sounds so peacefuk. You know I thought about food but if it was me I would be afraid to eat it. So I just said thanks and hopefully I can get in touch next Fall with them.

I know you will be so glad to be finished with school. Goodness I have much more empathy for grandparents who raise their grandchildren after the last few months.

What about writing out a sincere thank you card? Hand written notes are so very rare. Maybe you cold get the kids to add something? Or at least sign it? I know how hard it is to get kids to write thank yous but maybe you could fine a fun poem or verse to write & just have them sign their names.

Here's hoping summer days are more more stress free than the last few months have been.

Both of my in-laws are bus drivers. Their favorite gift is a handwritten note.

Where do those grandparents get all their energy I wonder.
I need some of it!
I'm glad summer is over and I can be a fun grandma again.

I think we'll do cards tomorrow and send them to the bus garage..that's perfect!

Your right I bet they would love that the best.

Glad school is almost over. Hope you have a fun summer.
I think we are supposed to get the heat and humidity and storms today.

Vickie @Vickie's Kitchen and Garden said...

The heat is bad but factor in the humidity and it's makes it a bit unbearable. Take it easy and stay as cool as you can.
