We are back from the U.P. of Michigan! It felt like we were in another world and we loved that. We stayed in a rental cabin in Newberry MI called Halfway Lake Cottages and they let you have use of boats and kayaks for free.
We had a wonderful time and went to see some attractions like the Bear Ranch, the big Spring, Castle Rock, Tahquamenon Falls, etc. They were all outdoor activities and everyone was required to wear masks.
The weather was rather cool. Nightly temperatures hovered around 45 degrees and day time we were lucky if it got near the upper 70's. No fans or air conditioners needed. In fact, one day we all wore sweatshirts. Wonderful!
That virus is still going strong and I'm sure it's in the U.P. somewhere, so we were very careful. So many of our pictures we all had our masks on. I can imagine the conversation later in our lives, that was the time we escaped to the woods of Michigan to get away from Covid19.
We have dreams to go further northeast next year to the Porcupine mountains in Michigan. Yep, we have mountains here in Michigan, who would ever think? I've never been there because it always seemed so far to travel but I can't wait.
We came back to lots of laundry and a garden full of weeds. There was a harvest though! I'll post about that tomorrow.
Let me know if you have escaped this summer or tell me how it's going in your neck of the woods.

Welcome back!
I'm so glad you were able to get away for a few days. The pictures look so beautiful and relaxing. I know it did you good.
We took a drive on the Blue Ridge parkway for our anniversary which was nice.
Hope you have a good week.
We've been on the Blue Ridge parkway or close by.
What a beautiful drive you had. Happy Anniversary!
Glad you had a nice get away
I am not going anywhere and am content with just reading books. Thanks for all your posts, and stay safe...
Books are a great getaway! They take us to places we can never go. Have a great day.
Your hey away sounds wonderful! We are beginning our second week at our lake house. Last week we found a historic church and drove up to a beautiful mountain lake. We can see the Blue Ridge Mountains from town here. We are looking for more adventures this week!
i am so glad you were able to get away. I hope we never take that for granted again.
Sounds so beautiful Lana! Sounds like it belongs on a postcard!
We all will have a new appreciation for everything when life goes back to normal.

Not sure I would like it all the time but it was such a relief to be in that nice cool air. Have a great day Melissa!
