I talked to a dear friend yesterday.  No, it wasn't on Facebook or on email, I actually spoke with her on the phone.  It was wonderful to catch up with her and just hear her voice.  I need to do that more often.

I'm considering having a garden party.   We could sit outside,  distance ourselves, and just talk.  I think I'll get planning that very soon before school starts back.

You see I think the decision has been made that Grandma's school will be opening up again this Fall.  The parents feel that the risk for the grandchildren to go to an actual school is just too great.  The grandparent's feel this also.   Unless something changes this is the decision so far.  In the end though,  I'm good with whatever they decide.

So, my time will be taken up this fall with supervising the children's school work.   We have a few weeks of just us left so I'm going to use it wisely.  A garden party and a getaway for just me and the husband, is in the near future.  That last part is going to take some thinking of what we can do as a couple in the middle of a pandemic that's for sure!

What's going on in your neck of the woods?

I think the garden party idea is brilliant. Hubby and I would never go anywhere if we had to decide where. The lake house is handy that way since all we have to do is reserve the date. Our stateside grandchildren have always been homeschooled and our two in Germany went back for the last three weeks and are now at summer camp having a blast. I'm not sure how I would feel about sending any of them into the classroom here.

Oh, a garden party sounds so sweet, Vickie. I think having your grandchildren at home with you rather than having them go to public school is the best option right now. Whatever they decide, I hope they stay safe and healthy.

You are one brave Grammy. I homeschooled my son from birth through high school & I know how hard it is. I can't imagine how much harder it would be to deal with public school schedules & time fillers.

People ask me if I'm going to homeschool my grandson & it's always been a very strong emphatic no. But who would have dreamed of a pandemic changing the world so much?! I'm glad he's only two . Hopefully things will be cleared up by then.

Germany is in such better shape than us. I'm so glad that life is returning to normal there. I hope that happens here for us soon.

Going somewhere is a problem..I've been mulling over what to do all morning. Need to think some more. I'm glad you have the lake house Lana.

The thoughts of homeschooling never ever enter my mind either Jenny. Oh I hope the world is better by school age for your grandson. I can't imagine this going on too much longer.
We just never know what the future holds I guess.

That's the main thing -safe and healthy. This is a big mess for sure Belinda!

Oh I hope you have a garden party! That sounds like such fun, and a great way to catch up. I also love your idea of a getaway with your husband.
You are a great Grandma, and I know your daughter appreciates your help.
My son starts his senior year of college next month, and I'm a bit worried. I'm afraid that things will get worse before they get better...

I'm happy my son is grown because I firmy think I would not have sent him to school. My son had a small gathering at his home so it was nice to see him

Parents certainly have some big decisions to make.
I'm so glad you had a chance to see you son.
