So, I got busy and weeded some of the garden last night.  I've been neglecting it because you see first it was too hot then it was too wet.   I have so many excuses.

If you are ever bored weed you garden but know when to stop...those weeds will be there tomorrow.  I'm 20 years older than my mind thinks I am.  The body knows.  The knees ..oh the knees.

Look at the flowers, corn, and zinnias!  Everything is coming up so great.  I keep on trying to remember that I planted the week after Memorial weekend this year.  I will get a harvest like other people in the neighborhood..it just takes time.  I get so jealous.

Tomatoes are ripening!  They are small but we already have had some great tomato sandwiches!  I always make sure to buy some early ripening tomato plants.  Nothing makes me happier than to see a ripe tomato as soon as possible!

We had a meal of green beans waiting for us when we got back from the lake. That makes three. Not a lot but so good. Our tomatoes are just putzing along. We at least have some green ones now. I noticed that every garden here is behind or not doing well here. The residents of our lake house town are really great gardeners and theirs were far behind and sad too so I don't feel too bad.

Some years it just slower and some crops don't do as well. Someone told me that if the green beans come in great make sure you can all you can. Next year you may not have a bumper crop. So we go by that with whatever we get. I couldn't be a farmer!

Your garden is beautiful!...I am so jealous.
My tomatoes slowed down a little. I think because it we had a cool spell & they really need heat to ripen quickly. But it's hot & humid today....& more heat is predicted so I think they'll speed up.

That's all I'm growing. I bought some cow manure this morning to add to some beds I'd weeded. We have hard, white rocky soil here & I've never been good about mulching. But I thought I'd add some as I weed & hope my plants will be healthier.

I also have a four day weekend! We're all so tired so my dil took off work today & tomorrow. It's a good thing too...I made two trips to Walmart this morning ..the cyber-world tossed my pick up order in the air & I only got half of it. I had to go home, go through everything to see what was left out then go back & shop myself. I decided to go on to Aldi while I was at it.

I got home only to realize I left a bag at the register...full of stuff I'd already paid for. What a day! I called the store & they said all I have to do is bring in my receipt to get the items the next time I'm in town. So I'll wait until then.

Well I typed a comment and I lost it, so I'll just say your garden looks great, and I hope your knees are ok.

Thanks Kathy..I don't know how many times I've lost my comment and I'm almost too tired by then to write another. I'm glad you wrote again!
