Curbside shopping!

We took a little ride towards dusk last night to go curbside shopping.  My grandson asked exactly what is that?  So funny, we explained we are looking for other people's junk that they have thrown out.  Their junk is our treasure!

The first thing we found was a box of tools for husband.  Great find and we loved it!  Okay, he loved it more than me but still wow!

Going through another neighborhood I yelled, "stop" for this beautiful plant that someone decided they didn't want.

Right now it's sitting on my rain barrel that has a nice deep bowl on top and I use that for helping plants. I just put them in the bowl and put some water in them and let them soak all day (and all night).  It revives them and saves them from an untimely death.

I also picked up their outdoor side table.  I needed somewhere to put this huge thing!

Fun times.

P.S.  Hand sanitizer was used after each pick up.  No mask was needed, we didn't see anyone!

how's it going in your neck of the woods?

I am amazed at what you find on the curb! Who throws out tools or that beautiful plant? Finders keepers!

Wow those were great finds!
I love the plant, and I'm glad you were able to save it.

So much fun....so I have questions about this. You find such nice things I can't believe people actually toss this stuff. Do people place signs? Is that how you know for sure you can take things? Or are they set out with trash cans? I'd be so afraid someone would come running out & accuse me of stealing.

I finished painting my bathroom & am exhausted. I'm putting it back together today.

We go to nicer neighborhoods than ours where they are more likely to just toss it out with the trash. Wednesday, for the neighborhood we went to last night,is trash night. They just sit these things out to throw them away by the trash cans. We grab them when we find them.
I bet your bath room looks great now Jenny. Glad you had time to get it done!

We happened to drive by the estate sale area we went to last week. All the family, it looked like, was there and going through everything and getting rid of what they didn't want.
We lucked out!

Wow! Great finds - I'm sure your grandson was impressed!
I live in a small apt. building and we leave things in the lobby or the laundry room and have to say - most of the stuff I leave disappears very quickly so I'm pleased that people are able to make use of something that I know longer needed or wanted.

I live close to a very ritzy neighbourhood so it's a good spot for people to checkout - items will be put at then of the drive with a sign saying "Free" or "Help Yourself" - makes a lot of sense to me, especially at the moment when so many places still aren't accepting donations or are limiting what they will take.

Happy hunting!
