Friday traditions?

One of our traditions when the kids went half days to school was a trip to the best donut shop in the world. These donuts are so good and so big, they are a meal. We would sit there, eat our donut, and watch the line get longer. There was also the donut crowd that was fun to listen too.  A bunch of older men and women would line up two tables and have coffee and a donut.  I assume this must of went on every morning.

You can still go in and get your donuts from the big bakery case but the tables are scooted over. It's kind of sad. So anyway, this morning I'm headed over there to get the donuts before I get the kids so they can enjoy a Friday donut.   Not sure if I should do this every Friday but maybe twice a month will be ok.  That sugar rush they get is wild.

Garden

There  is a frost freeze warning tonight so all the tomatoes, cabbage, and peppers are getting harvested after school.  The only thing left will be the pumpkins still on the vine.  Seems a bit too early for them so I'm going to keep them as long as I can out there.

How's it going in your neck of the woods?

Donut Friday sounds awesome!
I know they will enjoy it.
Seems early for frost.
We've had a lot of rain from Sally, even lost power for a while yesterday. Weekend is looking good though. Hope you have a great one.

I see winter coming early here in SC too. It is way cooler than it should be already. Those donuts sounds so good. I am so tired of everything being closed up with no end in sight!

When I was first married I stopped at a donut shop every payday....oh goodness I ate way too many of them. They were so good! But I rarely get one anymore & I don't think my husband has had one in 25 yrs. I think it's a great idea to do something to make Friday's special.

We bring our grandson to our house early on Fridays so I guess that's special. The rest of the week we leave him at home for his dad to feed him breakfast, get him going & bring him around 8 or 9. But on Fridays, if he's up when we get there at 5 we go ahead & bring him. Otherwise we wait until he gets up. We do that so our son can go right to bed when he gets off work & then get up a little earlier for more time with his family on his one night off a week. And because he rarely stays with us past 10AM on Fridays.

Doing laundry today & planning to eat supper with my son tonight.

Donuts on Friday is a neat tradition. I like the meals in jars book also, I'm definitely going to get that one.

I harvested the tomatoes and the cabbages..it's definitely going to get to freezing or pretty near.

When I was younger I could eat a donut everyday too or something sweet. We had three leftover so I froze them. Well just thaw them out next week on Friday.
I bet your grandson loves that you pick him up. He is forming a living bond with you.
Have a great supper.

ha ha I forgot to download that book and did it this morning just as I saw your message. It would be nice to have some easy things to fix.
