How can I Not Talk about It?

Yesterday's news about Michigan was so unbelievable that I feel I have to say something.  If you didn't hear there was a plot to kidnap our Governor,  hold a trail, and most likely kill her by two militias.  They also had plans to overthrow the capital.  This is home grown terrorism.  This is stuff we see in other countries not ours.

My hope is that you don't consider this post political but my response to my shock that something like this could happen.  No matter which side we lean towards, I feel we must unite and denounce this kind of hatred and violence.

It could happen in your state.

How can I not talk about it?

I am sorry. It is unbelievable and shocking.
Thank God for those FBI agents and law enforcement who took their oath seriously, to defend us from all enemies foreign and domestic.

The teacher for grandson was talking about open mindness. We all need to have that for each other. Great lesson for these times.
I forgot to say thank you to the hard working FBI. If not for them..well I just can't imagine Kathy.

I saw that in my news feed and it almost seemed like it could not be true because it was so crazy! It just gets stranger and stranger every day in this world. We no longer have common sense in this country. I am thankful that the outcome was for good.

Several years ago our governor disappeared and was no where to be found. Then they found out he had gone to South America to see his mistress. Father of six. Ran on a family man platform with his toddler and blankie on his shoulder everywhere he went. And then his district elected him to Congress! WHAT?

It seems there are no surprises anymore. Everything seems out of control and scary now. What has happened to the world? Where has kindness gone? I think it is partly mask related. Everyone is on his own behind his own mask. People don't look at each other and smile anymore. It almost seems to make people not be accountable for their actions. A bank was robbed here this week and the guy just had a mask on like he was shopping at Walmart. That kind of weirded me out too. Okay enough rant. You all know what I mean.

You don't know how much I want to type, but I am trying to be good. ;)
We got the liberate Virginia talk too...all this hate spewing has to stop. I hope that our governors and law enforcement stay safe.

I hope they stay safe too ..this will be over one day and I hope we can all unite so it will be soon!

I'm like you ..very strange everyday.
I remember that situation very well in your state ...you just ever know!
I often wonder how many people i walk by with their mask on and don't recognize them. So that robber had a great disguise that's for sure.

Now I see that your bad guys were arrested here in my state! Yesterday when we were out running errands someone kept looking at us and I wondered if I knew her but had no idea who she was with the mask. I would feel weird going to a person and asking.

I had so many people contact me yesterday from out of state asking what the heck was going on here. I told them they probably knew as much as I did and left it at that. Normally a loved one would be right down the street from the capitol building but everything is being done online right now. I am truly grateful for that. Ann

I wonder how much this kind of thing happens that we never know about.

I'm not reading the news. I just cannot read it anymore. I haven't even been tempted to scroll through a news feed of any kind at all. I will vote but I just can't stand to see people be so mean right now. I'm not reading posts on FB except in my groups (where politics are banned). I have close friends who say such things that I'm so heartbroken over....goodness.

I was watching The Waltons...I never watched it as a child...& at one point Grandma threw up her hands, shook her head & said...'The world has gone crazy! Everyone is just crazy!' Does everyone feel that way at my age?
I think about how my parents must have felt during the 60's, my grandparents in the 40s? My dad...(yes my dad was 60 when I came along)...was born in 1905 & watched the world go through so many mind numbing things....WWI, the 1918 Influenza epidemic, The great Depression, Prohibition & the Suffrage movement(not mind numbing but can you imagine how different the world must have felt before & after?), polio, WWII, The Cold War, The civil rights movement, Vietnam, ...on & on. He died when I was 17 but I don't ever remember him acting as if he felt overwhelmed. I do remember him talking about black people during civil rights & how he thought a person should be judged by their character, not their color.

I was a child during the riots in the 60s & Vietnam. I imagine it must have been very scary living then too but I never knew the world was so bad.

I think today we have too much free time & too much money...seriously. People who are working hard at a job are not causing the chaos.

Sorry for my rant Vicki. I don't think it was too political. :)

I admit to being very nervous about how things go in November...no matter who wins I think there will be riots & destruction either way.

oh no Lana..the militia are probably all over we just don't know about it.

Yes I'm always amazed at the amount of people who comment on post on news channels. Except for the article I won't hardly read them anymore because they are so hateful. It would be good if people would find something else to do (they need to garden).
Jenny, I've been getting concerned because of those comments and now something has happened. People need to take deep breaths and remember how their Momma raised them (I hope she was a upright citizen).
I love the Waltons..wish we lived in the mountains but things went crazy there too I guess. You know when Mom watched the Waltons she would say they lived in a fairy tale. I guess she was telling the truth but there were some great lessons in that series. It always made me feel good.

Ann, I'm so glad that your loved one is not around that area right now!
I had my nephew write me and say that he was ashamed to be from Michigan (he lives out of state). I'm not ashamed though, I'm horrified! When they showed the number of militia groups in our area I couldn't believe it. Instead of a hot spot for Covid we are surround by these groups. Oh my goodness the things we don't even know.
