So, we went driving around looking for Christmas lights last night. I've seen so many displays when my husband was driving but when I decided to drive the kids around it seemed like I forgot where they where. Oh, there were some very nice ones, but none like I seen when the husband was at the helm though. I do have this problem when I'm the rider, I don't pay any attention to where we are. I'm just in my own little world looking around.
Along the way, we did have some great conversations about God that started with how I was so sad that it so cloudy and that I couldn't see the Star. I mean this star shows up once every 800 years and we have a wall of clouds here in Michigan. Well, that somehow led to what we are going to do in heaven. I'm going to be a gardener, granddaughter is going to be in charge of the nursery, grandson will be in charge of the gamers, and daughter will be in charge of records. By the way, we really wouldn't need to eat good food because you know like we are already dead right Grandma? So, my job of being a gardener in heaven may not be needed ha ha.
About that time Grandson asked when this never ending ride would be over (pre-teen) and I told him we are almost home and it's just around the corner. He looked around the country side (by this time I was way out) and asked, just where is this corner? No joke though, we turned at the nearest corner and there was this house that had the best light display. We turned on our radio as instructed by the sign and the lights were synched to the music. They were amazed (me too)! Grandma the Hero Christmas light finder!
How's everything in your neck of the woods?

Yay for Grandma the Hero! Glad you found some beautiful lights, and what a thoughtful conversation with your grands. Great job!
Love that conversation. We all figured Daddy was gardening in heaven - so some day you will meet him!! You can garden flowers instead of food!
Momma is serving tea and cookies to everyone.
I love the kids thoughts.
Merry, Merry!!!!
That light display saved the night Kathy! I was solo lucky!
Flower gardening! My dream job. After getting to see all my family I can't wait to meet your dad and have tea with your mom. What a reunion!
Way to go Grandma! I hope to go look at Christmas lights with my grandson if we can fit it in.
My husband took off from work on the 17th through to the new year & other people have filled up our days until we only have ONE...read that one full day alone. I am seriously struggling with my attitude on that one.
We're baby sitting of course. Then our outbuilding is being built. They just left & they'll be back on Monday. Then, my husband has a friend in Wisconsin who wants to come visit this Saturday. They're driving their rv down & want to park it in our yard while we socially distant visit. So there goes our weekend.
I sound like such a grinch I know. So many people are lonely & seriously alone this year. I guess I'm just so very tired & want to be left alone for a good month at least.
I guess I figured that wrong...we will get two days alone...tomorrow then 8 days later another day then my husband will be getting ready to go back to work.
Make sure you make plans for those days alone and enjoy it while you can. Even if it's just a ride. You don't sound like a grinch at all..We need our time for ourselves too or It's not good for us. Relax while you can.
