Well, we didn't quite think it out yesterday.  We wanted to go to Lansing to go to a music store but it was not open due to the pandemic (online only).  Sometimes it surprises us what is not open.

So, then husband went around the block (a nice way to say he lost his way a little bit) and we ended up at the Aunt Millies bread store.  We spent $15.00 on 8 bread products, 2 bags of noodles, and 2 bags of potato chips.  Included in that bunch was a 35 cent bag of dinner rolls.

We needed those rolls because you see that turkey was roasting all by itself and needed some rolls to go with it.  It was a bit shriveled up by the time we got home but I basted it a lot and it kind of looked like a normal turkey when we ate it.  It was moist and delicious so that's all that matters I guess.

Then we went to Horrock's and I found this huge bag of potatoes for $2.99 and a half bushel of Honey crisp apples for $6.99!  There are a few green potatoes in that bunch but we will just throw them out.

So, after that we also called for an appointment at the tax service and you don't go for an appointment you just drop it off.

Is anything open any more?   How's it going in your neck of the woods?

I haven't been to Horrocks in so long I'm going to forget how to get there. Probably the same guitar store my son is waiting semi-patiently to open back up again. He needs a few things but wants to buy them in person and not online. And where is the Aunt Millie's store? I've lived in this area forever and never knew there was one in Lansing. Ann

Great grocery buys!

We don’t go out much but I got a mammogram this morning so many medical things are semi-normal again

Such great deals at the bread store!I've always heard we should learn to enjoy the 'detours'! I don't know of any stores in our area that aren't open. Things have opened/closed depending on the employee's contracting covid. Alot of churches have done that.

Good news...our new garage door was installed last night. I did not expect them. I came home around 4PM to find them tearing out the old one. They finished around 7 which is when I usually get in the shower to go to bed so I was pretty tired. It was so nice to push a button to open the door at 5:45....& to get into a warm car! Heaven!

Aunt Millies is on Grand River by the airport. It's a big Aunt Millies compared to ours. Then Horrocks is by 96 and Saginaw st. the address is 7420 W. Saginaw. You know though I'm just a passenger in the car without a care in the world so this is all I know ha ha. There was a cracker barrel by the exit to Horrocks.
I know it would have been so much fun watching husband try out the banjos and guitars too. I guess I understand though the caution. He really has enough pics but he would have bought something.

Yep, I need to do this also...I'm delaying it as long as I can I guess. Need to get with it.

Yep those places are opening and closing here too plus the schools around our area are doing that exact same thing, which is very disturbing.
yeah for a new garage door and a warm car. It's those things that make us happy!

It's going well here, such great bargains you got, especially the potatoes.

You got good deals. Haven't encountered anything closed yet. Make apptmt. go in for a one on one and get taxes done here. Some schools are closed - but most have part time in class and part time home classes.

I did a little happy dance when I saw those potatoes. The husband was happy about the apples.

No one on one here ..she called and made sure of things but that's it. I can't say I blame them at all I guess. It's just different.

Wow, those were all great deals Vickie! We used to have a bread store about an hour away, unfortunately they closed a couple of years ago. They had some other things too. Always bought too much for just the two of us but that never stopped us!
Alot of places are open here. We are retired so are lucky we don't have to go out (get groceries every two weeks but mainly stay home). Hope everyone can get through this safely and get closer to normal by summer.

Wow! Great deals! The weirdest places are closed here. We have kind of given up on trying to figure out what is open and assume everything is closed. There is also a new restaurant in town that has never had their dining room open since the building was finished last summer. Their food is delicious but we have only had it through the drive thru.

I can't wait for normal Nancy..we need normal!

Those poor new resturant owners! I'm glad your giving them your business. If we had any sense we would have called first but it all turned out to be a great day. We learned a lesson though that's for sure.
