Saturday we decided to go for a ride...not really a good idea but what's done is done.  They were putting down salt as we were going along.  It was so cold though that I can't imagine it was working really fast.  This morning we are at 5 degrees.

This picture just keeps looking like it's moving to me does it to you?

Anyhow, I finally got cabin fever so bad on Sunday that we realized really quick that just  a ride wouldn't do.   I needed out of the snow cave now!  We went to the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit and had a great time with the grandkids.   One thing about The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village is that I feel safe going there during this pandemic.  They got it going about making sure everything is clean, mask wearing,  social distancing,  and making sure that too many people are not in the building.   A great place to go!

In this picture we were watching a old movie about daredevil planes.

After a day out I think I can be happy again for awhile and that makes husband happy (he loved it too).

How's it going in your neck of the woods?

  1. Sounds like a fun weekend but cold...brr what a sweet picture of you all!
We had more snow and even lost electricity for a while Saturday. I'm sure thankful for those power linemen.
Hope you have a great week.

    1. To me those lineman are an essential worker too. Thank God for them ...too cold for no power.

  2. This Southern girl would have been freaking out on those roads! I am pretty sure we went to that museum when I was a child. We have been out and about quite a bit lately so no cabin fever here and we have many appointments again this week so go, go, go!

    1. Good that your getting out Lana..I hope everything is good with your appointments. I guess we are used to roads being bad and take it slow but really we should have stayed home that day.

  3. nothing is open like that around here. Public school is part time in and part time at home. Amish school is full time. None of the Amish have gotten covid in this area. A few of the restaurants are eat in but most are still pick up orders. Hubby gets out a couple times a week with his hauling job. I am a hermit.

    1. School is part time here too and not many things open. Restaurants just went to dine in but we just take out. We can watch a movie at the cinema but I'm just not ready for that because they can eat (without a mask). So I'm basically a hermit too except for grocery shopping it's hard though I'm So glad that There are things we can do though that we feel comfortable at.

  4. I think cabin fever is why I've gone into the thrift stores recently. Before covid I was out at least three days a week socializing & now I socialize none at all. For the most part I like being home but sometimes I agree with you...I have to get out of the house.

  5. 5 sounds pretty good to me. It has been below 0 here since Friday. Makes farm chores go fast! Otherwise it is tax time for me. Just as happy to stay home, though.

  6. I understand needing to get out Vickie. We have been hermits this whole time, only going out to the store occasionally. The first few months I ordered groceries online and picked up. Then we started going in about once every 2-3 weeks, but no loitering! Now I think it would be awful to get sick this late in the game after being so careful. So we keep on! It was much easier when weather was good, always doing things outside, now it's so cold (-24 this morning!). I always get cabin fever but that plus covid-jeesh! But I am thankful and grateful we are doing ok when so many are hurting. Stay well.

  7. Great picture! No, it doesn't look like it's moving on my end. I love the Henry Ford Museum. I'm glad you got to go. We were supposed to go back to regular church yesterday, but we had ZOOM church again due to snow here. It all melted by the end of the day. Today it was supposed to get up to 55 degrees. Sorry about your frigid weather. BTW, I won't be going back to church for a while longer. I'm cautious even with masks and social distancing.

    1. I can't blame you a bit for not going. I was thinking about the 1918 pandemic and how lucky we are to have the computer age where we still can participate and go to church online.
