In the end, I left the corned beef in the fridge yesterday and we took off to the Amish Store.  We have been holed up a little while doing this remodel and it was great to be out and about.  Sometimes you just need to leave all your responsibilities and go have fun.  Our fun lately has been grocery shopping.  So, now the corned beef is in the slow cooker this morning and we are going to pretend it's St. Patrick's Day!

Here are our best deals:

We couldn't pass up the tomato soup for 3/$1.00.  I mean the price of soup lately has been unbelievable!

A peck of apples for $2.99 found it's way into our cart too!

We also found Smithfield bacon for 2 for $5.00.   We were down to our last package in the freezer so we made sure to stock up.

At Yoder's Discount I found 2 bags of Cornmeal for $1.00 a piece.

In case your interested we went to Country View Bulk Foods and the address is 177 North Germania Rd. Snover, MI  and we also went to Yoder Discount store.

Found any good grocery deals lately?

  1. Great deals!!
Glad you were able to go on a road trip. I know it did you good to get out of the house for a while.
Enjoy your corned beef feast today.

  2. Yay for a day away from the house! We have found tons of good deals and iBotta rebate matches. So much that I still have $4 of February grocery money left and have not touched March yet! And our freezers and cupboards are packed! I think prices are going to go up again because of the gas prices so I am glad to have a good stock of everything on hand.

  3. What great deals! I did find some ribeye marked on clearance at Sam's club last week. I went in to buy ribeye to cook for my husband's birthday so I was happy to find it marked down & bought a pack to put in the freezer as well. I haven't been shopping otherwise.

  4. Those are great deals! We needed to get out also and went to an Amish store about an 1 1/2 hours away. We got both vaccines a few weeks ago and felt safe to go out (with masks). We got some good deals-3 different cheeses we cut up and froze, oh, and a box of chocolates (like the kind they sell for fundraisers).Just past expiration date but too bad. We haven't eaten our corned beef & cabbage & potatoes yet either. Hubby has doctor appointment tomorrow and didn't want to pig out until after (ha!).
