So, I decided to get the rest of the onions out of our storage in my daughter's basement.  It's been amazing how many onions I've went through this past winter. We have enough probably for another month or two of cooking.

I've since ordered more onion plants from Dixondale farms (we order Long Day onion plants because we are further north and have more daylight in the summer).  These grew so well last year!

So anyway, I looked down and saw this bag of potatoes I had forgotten about.  Would you look at that, the potatoes grew right through the bag!  I need to remind myself to go down there more often.  You know, basements though are just plain creepy plus there are those steps you have to climb.  ha ha

Dinner:

I have decided it will be left over soup beans, a ham sandwich, and maybe some mashed potatoes.    I'm wore out with carpet installing, moving furniture, and the excitement of getting the shot (so far no effects).

What's going on in your neck of the woods?

I'm so happy you're making progress on your remodeling. I hope you'll share some pictures.

I'm hoping to get the vaccine through my husband's workplace though my hopes aren't too high. They had 1500 vaccines but only about 400 people took advantage of them. So he's going to see if I can get one. I don't want to have to go get one with the masses if I can help it.

I'm making slow progress on spring chores...still painting, still cleaning out flower beds, doing some spring plant dividing, mulching, ect. I hope to actually plant some things next week. I think we'll be past a serious frost by then...I hope. I also set up a compost bin. I've tried so many times & always it's taken over with crab grass. So I'm completely enclosing it this time in a large tub with holes for drainage & air. If it goes well I'll add another tub int he fall.

I would trim those potato sprouts a bit and then cut the potato into slips for planting. They could be useful.
Rain here today - so not much outside work. Just doing odds and ends.

Good idea Cheryl. We are expecting rain tonight boy do we need it.

I don't blame you and if you can get one at your husband's work I think that's great. Meijer's wait was 3 hours long, not sure about Rite Aid, but the health department had it going perfect. In and out.
You'll love that compost bin. I have two and it really is great soil that comes out of there. Don't you just love this weather Jenny?

What an interesting science project and you didn't even have to plan it and do it!

I agree with Cheryl. I would plant those potatoes and make more

I am so happy for you and your remodeling, but I know it is a lot of work.

Looks like you've got the beginning of a good potato crop! I'm not fond of making the trek downstairs, either. My basement is finished off and I mostly work down there on shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse, but I do go down everyday to empty the dehumidifiers. We have a lot of humidity in East Tennessee, so I have to keep ahead of it. My basement isn't damp, but I'm sure it would be with all the rain we've had in the last month, if I didn't have the dehumidifiers.

I so appreciate the good books you post. I thought Chasing Fireflies was a wonderful novel. I listened to the audio book a few years back. It will be nice to have a copy in case I want to read it again. Also, I've never read the Anne of Green Gables books, so they will be fun to read! I know my daughters loved them.

It is certainly a relief to get the vaccination(s). I have resumed having Wednesday lunch with an elderly friend, though for now, we are getting take-out and not eating in. My friend is almost 88.

We're able to schedule our vaccine so hopefully no waiting or not much.
