The Price of Flowers and My Menu plan for 5/17/22

My White Bleeding Heart in my Garden

The Price of Flowers

Pretty soon we will be going to buy our flowers at one of the greenhouses around here.   I grew a lot of plants but my little greenhouses cannot hold everything.  Besides the daughter wants to buy me some for my Mother's day present!

For a  flat of  annual flowers,  prices can range from $14.97 to $17.97 around here, according to one of my local Facebook group.  I have to figure out the cost of gas if I want to go to the least expensive route because my greenhouse closes to me is the highest.

Are their flowers any different?  I don't believe so..but they might have the prettiest or they may have varieties no one else has.  It's a dilemma that we will have to figure out this weekend.  I think we will go to the one closer first than figure out what we want to do.  Flower day yay!

By the way we don't usually plant till Memorial Day Weekend but I will look at the long range forecast to see if I can plant or not.  I can always keep them in the garage if I think it's too cold.

Here is what's on the menu this week:

Monday         Chili Cheese dogs

Tuesday         Tacos (I have a taco bell kit)

Wednesday    Steak and Potatoes

Thursday       Leftovers

Friday            Spaghetti

Saturday        Hamburgers on the Grill

Sunday          Grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn

What's on your menu?

Flowers are crazy expensive here as well. Six packs are now four packs and they are $3! I was fortunate to find some actual six packs on the markdown rack when we were at the lake for $1 each. Then Lidl had six packs for 1.99 and actually had what I wanted. I have 13 six packs total and will make that be enough because I would rather spend money on other things this year.

We roasted a whole chicken last night and so it will dictate meals this week. This morning I made chicken salad and set aside some for Sausage and Chicken Dirty Rice which will feed us twice. I have a free pizza from my birthday so we will have that one day and then see if we have gotten through all the chicken. The pizza can do a second meal too. Easy week overall which is just fine by me!

Lana, They are even making flower packs smaller! I'm glad you got a great price. With so many others things everyone needs I don't blame you for not buying too many of them.
I love easy weeks. Happy Birthday! Have a great one.

Tonight, I am cooking a seasoned pork loin, two packs of ground beef, and bscb. I cook a lot of protein one day, freeze most of it. That way, I only have to cook vegetables, or we can have a salad.

Flowers are expensive here, too.

I love prepping ahead like that, so smart Practical. I need to do more that's for sure. Life gets busy and somedays I just fall over!
Today is steak and potato day. There were two big steaks and we have three living here so we will split it all between us.
