I went beyond ...umm how do you say it, my comfort level and sold some of my flowers this past weekend. The grandson is going on a trip with school so I wanted to contribute. I was up all night thinking about this and wondering if I could do it (anxiety level was high). I thought this maybe a stupid idea but I sold some bouquets. Made $20 on Saturday then nothing on Sunday but I'm ok with that.
Then I went out of my head
One morning this past week, I made bird suet with some leftover oil, I made apple pie jam, picked and dried herbs, boiled and pickled some eggs, picked mustard greens for dinner, washed and dried three loads of laundry, folded two, towards one o'clock I made dinner, ate, started washing dishes, quit and fell into bed exhausted at 2. I think I thought I was 30! I took a old person's nap and was ready to go again...well enough to crochet and watch youtube.
What homestead chores do we have planned for the rest of October?
Make chicken run larger
Paint front door and trim on garage (keep up the house)-it's down now in the 50's and 60's is that too cold to paint?
We have two small rows of potatoes left to dig but we have to wait until it dries up. It rained a lot yesterday
Finish weeding strawberries.
Rake leaves in to the garden and cover strawberries with them too.
Can mustard greens, apple pie filling, and zuchinni pineapple.
All that will have to wait -both grandkids are a little sick this morning. Smokie though is happy to have company!
