Then he said, Forget the Garden this Year!

I went to the doctor this past Wednesday for my back problem.  After talking to me about what I do everyday he said...forget the garden this year.  He was worried about me bending over weeding.   Just forget the garden...uhh no.  Is he crazy?

Two cortisols shots and I was on the way with a  ticket to rest for the summer.

You see, I have an aresonal that he doesn't know about,  the husband and hay.  Last night we went and bought one more bale to go on the last four rows.   That should take care of a lot of weeds and I can still rest and have a garden.

I mean who would want to forget this garden.  Plus there is this:

The two raised beds are growing like crazy.  Cabbage here we come.

The leaf lettuce is still growing strong.  We pick a lot every week.

The herbs are really growing.

I picked garlic scapes to cook with.

The roses are in bloom.  I'm drying some now for potpourri.

So rest yes but forget the garden..uhh no.

How's it going at your house?

Sorry about the back troubles. I hope the shots help you feel better.
Your garden looks great! Lots of yummy veggies. Good idea to use the hay to cut down on the weeds.

I started gardening with raised beds 3 years ago because of back and knee problems. I get so much from gardening and would near a threapist if I didn't garden. ITs a smaller space but I still get alot of produce from it. Where there is a will there is a way.

My pain doctor said the same thing, I told him I would crawl to have my garden as that was how we had food. He said crawling was GOOD.

I do raised beds and have for years.
