We have started harvesting, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, and we dug some new potatoes (they were fine-no rot).
I love having easy summer side dishes -I just slice a tomato and cucumber and cook the new potatoes with a can of green beans from last years harvest. Our green beans will probably be ready the end of August.FYI-we just buy some corn from the local farmer and the chicken was Sam's.
Tomato sandwiches in the evening have been something I could never get tired of!
Last night I finished my summer, don't think about it afaghan. I wanted something to do without worrying about a pattern. It was just double crochet and then I put a border around it. Easy!
How's it going at your house? How have you saved this week?

Yum, your dinner sounds so good, Vickie. Nothing as good as fresh tomatoes, potatoes, and cucumbers from the garden. We love tomato sandwiches here too.
Your summer afghan is beautiful, I love the color of it.
We've had a good week, and hope you did too. The mosquitos are so bad up there, I feel for you!
Thanks Belinda- I was able to get in the garden yesterday but it rained again today. I was ran out again by those pesky mosquitos LOL.
Have a good weekend.
I purely love that afghan! Oh to have homegrown tomatoes! We gave up on fighting the squirrels for them.
Oh no Lana, Pesky squirrels! Sometimes I worry about the rabbits I see coming out of the garden but I've yet to see what they are eating. It will all come out soon.
