My Menu Plan for this Week 10/29/18!

Menu Plan for this Week 9/10/18

Well I did it!  We went the whole week without eating out once.   My budget is better off and so is my waist.

The menu plan kind wavered last week but we gave it all we had.  Here is my diary of what went on:

Monday and Tuesday  were no problem and we stayed on the menu plan.

Wednesday I was cranky after thawing out the freezer in kind of cold conditions the previous day.  All my fault for waiting so long.  I felt okay in the morning and made wonderful banana muffins.  I made sure to freeze a couple for breakfasts.   Dinner ended up being wrapped tortillas with deli meat.  No one complained.

Thursday   woke up still determined not to eat out.  I made boiled eggs for breakfast and found some bacon in the freezer.  I then thawed out smoked pork chops for us and hamburgers for youngest daughter (she hates smoked pork chops).   I put the covered bowl of bacon grease on top of the covered pork chops making it easy to see and then I put the jar of green beans in a pot on the stove.  I did all this so my husband wouldn't have a problem cooking.  It's been awhile since he cooked.  I left it all up to him though while I went on a field trip with the granddaughter to the orchard (I took another tortilla wrap for lunch).

After he loaded the wood box next to the back door getting ready for cozy fires in the fireplace this winter he made dinner.  Really it was just browning the meat and seasoning the green beans so he didn't have a problem.  He was kind of surprised by this new deal of him cooking but he did well.

Friday....Mustard greens and soup beans-no meat

Saturday   I bought some green peppers and stuffed them with the freezer meal I had previously made plus the rest of the soup beans and mustard greens.

Sunday...  cheat day -cinnamon rolls, fried apples (I used a little sweetener no sugar), and bacon (warning:  don't cook bacon in the toaster oven...just don't).

Not going out to eat last week was challenging with so many things going on.  Just imagine what I could do on a slow week!  I think I challenge myself to at least a couple of no eating out a month.
This week won't be one of them.

Monday              Beef Stew (in the crockpot now-I make it just like Hamburger stew but we won't have potatoes)

Tuesday              Spaghetti with spaghetti squash

Wednesday         Cheeseburger Pie (Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook)

Thursday            Out to eat

Friday                 Baked Chicken, mustard greens. green beans

Saturday             Out to eat (daughter's treat as we go pick up the grandchildren's dog for an early Christmas present)

Sunday               Chicken fajitas
