My Grocery Shopping Total for 11/17/18!

I've been stocking up on things that are on sale for the holiday this week.   So far we have found great prices on Turkey (37 cents a pound) and sweet potatoes (39 cents a pound).

I use the turkey in any meal that I would normally use chicken and they come out great.    I have used turkey before in my chicken and dumplings, chicken salad, chicken noodle soup, and chicken pot pie. Usually no one even realizes the switch.

We were down  $8.11 this week from our $100 budget.  We still owe on that first of the month shopping trip that we overspent $50.00.    We are on the right track, down to -$14.89 and we will try to get it down even more next week.   You know at first I thought well the next week I would only spend $50 but I quickly realized that would not work.   I like that the $50 over is more spread out over the month.   A lot less stress.

If you have never read my grocery totals before here is a little Information:

I want to keep our grocery budget at $100.00. I always forget to clarify how many people live here permanently and who we have her to babysit.   We have 3 people that live here (youngest daughter buys some of her groceries) and we babysit two grandchildren (although now they will be in school most days).

We also want to eat healthy so our grocery bill is a little higher than we are used to.  Like my husband says, "our health is our wealth."

2 Pkgs. Tortillas $7.98

Save a Lot

When I heard that Save a Lot had sweet potatoes on sale I convinced the  husband to skip Aldi's this week  and go to Save A Lot to buy the sweet potatoes on sale.  I loved seeing a different variety.  The price was lower on the bologna so  I wish we had waited to buy all of it here.  Milk was a little higher than Aldi's but we needed some so we paid the extra rather than go to another store.
