My Menu for This Past Week: Salvaging Breakfast

Salvaging breakfast:

Last week I got back to babysitting my cute grandchildren and I was totally unprepared!   I woke up most days with just enough time to grab a bowl of cereal.  Believe me it was not the good kind at all!  Seems like I can get dinner on the table alright but mornings are definitely a problem!

On Friday morning I got a little break and  decided to get started planning ahead breakfast for next week. That way I could just get up and throw something in the microwave and be on my merry way.

I made up oatmeal packets that I will flavor with a teaspoon of jelly.  This will never grow old with the different types of jelly in my pantry (strawberry, peach, apple butter, and cherry).

Then I bought a new waffle maker at Aldi's last night.   I made up some waffles with all intention of freezing some but I realize they will be gone soon by the whole family.   I just grab one out of the freezer or refrigerator and pop it in the toaster oven to get it crisp again.

Now on to what was on the menu last week:

Our menu changes frequently in my home with use of leftovers, garden produce, or special occasions that come up. With that in mind I have decided to tell you what we have had this past week instead of what I have planned ahead.

Sunday               Out to eat with family- Chinese buffet food

Monday              Ham dinner, mustard greens, potatoes

Tuesday             Spaghetti

Wednesday         Hot dogs

Thursday            Pizza used rest of spaghetti sauce

Friday                 Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy  (too busy to go in the backyard garden!)

Saturday             Leftover meatloaf, mashed potatoes, fried cabbage and mustard greens (I'm going out to pick now)
