The sauerkraut tasting was held off till this last Sunday. We were treated to dinner after helping our oldest daughter at her house. Finally at last we sit down to have a nice Sunday dinner and it was deemed delicious!
We decided on Thursday to do a good deed and help our daughter with her garden. When we were done we were like two old people limping into the house (oh that's right we are old ..ha ha). I couldn't even thing about getting out one of my freezers meals. In order to stop the bad habit of going to Mcdonald's I remembered the T.V. dinners we had in the freezer. Not sure if they were any better for us but it was cheaper!
After tasting those t.v. dinners I've decided to make up my own after reading this post. Even if you have just a little bit of leftover food it would be good to save in the freezer for another day. With some sides you have a meal for someone. I've put this in to practice already with the steaks. Instead of waiting for another meal or hoping someone will eat them I put them in some sectional microwavable plates like these. Now all we will have to do is microwave a potato when we are ready.
Our menu changes frequently in my home with use of leftovers, garden produce, deals, or special occasions that come up. With that in mind I have decided to tell you what we have had this past week instead of what I have planned ahead.
Sunday Sauerkraut and hot dogs, mustard greens, and Skillet Cornbread
Monday Leftovers with Pinto Beans
Tuesday Soup and sandwiches
Wednesday - Dinner out
Thursday TV dinners we bought on sale with a coupon $1.29 each after coupon- We helped in my daughters garden and couldn't move after! Barely could punch the buttons on the microwave.
Friday Steak on the Grill
Saturday Grilled chicken (recipe coming soon) in a tossed salad with bacon (I've already made up the salad. I'm keeping some of the bacon back we had for breakfast this morning)
